Witches Paddle 2023 Pre-Event Information
The Countdown is on! We are 1-week away from Witches Paddle 2023! We cannot wait for you to take flight in Wickford Harbor!
Have you heard? We have 300 participants registered for this event! It’s very exciting! However, given this large amount we will have two launch locations, Gardner’s Wharf Seafood and Wilson Park. We ask that you please plan accordingly, carpool or be dropped off/picked up if possible. Parking in town will be limited. If you plan to launch at Wilson Park, you will need to paddle to Gardner’s to begin the paddle for 12pm. Please plan accordingly to ensure you will arrive in time. Our recommendation is for kayakers to use the Wilson Park Kayak launch in order to reduce the congestion expected at Gardner’s.

Have you registered for our costume contest yet? It’s free to join and we have some marvelous gifts donated from local Wickford merchants and restaurants! There are four costume contest categories; Best Witch, Best Warlock, Best Dressed Pet, and Most Creative/Unique. If you are interested in participating in the costume contest and haven’t yet signed up, please give the shop a call and we’ll be more than happy to add you.
Pre-Bib & T-Shirt Pick up:
If you are a registered participant for the costume contest or have purchased an event t-shirt, save yourself the hassle and drop by the shop ahead of time. (Stay tuned for designated pick-up times - coming soon!) *Psst! You’ll still want to stop to have your photo taken in costume upon arrival at the check-in table the day of the paddle.*
Witches Paddle 2023
Date/Time: Sunday, October 22, 2023.
- Check-in begins at 10:00am at BOTH LOCATIONS!
- *Only those who are participating in the costume contest need to check-in to receive your bib # and have your photo taken.
- T-Shirt pick-ups: If you purchased an event t-shirt you must pick it up at Gardner’s Wharf Seafood or at the shop in the days leading up to this event, (see above). *T-shirts will NOT be available for pick up at Wilson Park*
- Witches Paddle Begins at 12pm at Gardner’s Wharf Seafood
- Costume Contest Participants:
- Be sure your bib # is clearly visible.
- Judges will be located at the town dock. If you are participating in the costume contest, please ensure you paddle by the judges at least once so that they can see your costume and bib #.
Location/Parking:
- Location #1: Gardner's Wharf Seafood: 170 Main St, North Kingstown, RI 02852
- *Please park in the large lot to the right of Gardner’s. Please do not take up parking spaces in Gardner’s private lot to the left.
- Location #2: Wilson Park Kayak/SUP Launch:

- *Please ensure you park in the dirt lot across from the Kayak/SUP launch and NOT at the boat trailer launch area.
- Participants who choose to launch at Wilson Park must plan accordingly as you will need to paddle to Gardner’s Wharf Seafood to begin the paddle by noon. It will take approximately 10-15 minutes to paddle to Gardner’s.
