Retail Sales Associate (part-time and full-time)
Waterfront Staff (summer seasonal)
A Retail Sales Associate is responsible for greeting customers, answering questions, offering assistance, suggesting items, lending opinions and providing product information. Individual responsibilities as a Retail Sales Associate may include demonstrating outstanding customer service and selling skills, keeping the selling floor stocked with merchandise, assisting in display of merchandise or organizing the selling floor and stock areas.

This position is available as a full-time job, averaging 35-40 hours per week or part-time job, averaging 16-20 hours per week. We expect staff to be available to work weekends and occasionally some evenings. Generally shifts will vary from week to week. Extended vacations are usually not possible during the season, however time off is available with advance notice.
Our team of waterfront staff is on the front lines of customer interaction and for many new paddlers will be their introduction to paddling. The Kayak Centre is known for our high level of customer service and our waterfront staff is an integral part of the team. This team is primarily responsible for assisting kayak rental customers by fitting them with lifejackets and paddles and reviewing the basics of safely paddling and launching a kayak. The waterfront team also assists with getting kayaks on and off the water for tour and instructional clients as well as customers who are “test paddling” to buy the perfect kayak.

We are seeking experienced instructors with ACA or BCU certification as well as current certification in CPR & First Aid who are outgoing team players with a passion for paddling and teaching. We are also seeking tour guides with previous kayak experience or guide training. Both of these positions require safety conscious individuals with great paddling skills, a high level of customer service and attention to detail. Instructor and Guide positions are part-time averaging 10-20 hours per week.
