We offer on-site only rentals throughout the summer at our waterfront location in Wickford. Paddle through picturesque Wickford Harbor and head to Cornelius Island for lunch and a swim. Perfect for paddlers of all abilities!

• Rentals are by reservation only; no walk-ins allowed. 
• You must launch from our rental location, we do not allow you to take the kayaks or boards in your vehicle to somewhere else.
• Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
• Please arrive no more than 10 minutes before your specified time.

How do I book?

Our rentals are by reservation only and can be booked on our website here. The time slots close for online booking 1 hour before they begin, so if you see   we have to take the reservation by phone.

What’s included?

All of our rentals include the kayak or SUP, paddle, and life jacket. We also provide some quick basic instruction if you have never paddled before.

What do I bring?

We recommend leaving as many of your belongings in the car as possible. We do not provide drybags, however you can purchase one from our store. 

What if it rains?

Paddling is a watersport! But really, if there are high winds or thunderstorms we will cancel rentals and provide a full refund. If you'd rather not paddle in the rain or on windy days, we can either rebook you to a different day or send you a gift card you can use to come back a different day.

On days with high winds, we will restrict the paddling area to a smaller portion of the harbor.

What if I can't make my reservation?

We have a 24-hour cancellation policy, so in order to get a full refund, you must call us 24 hours in advance. If you call us a few hours before your reservation, we can only offer you a gift card or offer to rebook you to another day. We understand last-minute emergencies happen, so please just give us a call and we can work something out for you. 

Cancellation, Waiver, & Alcohol Policy

Waiver Policy: You must fill out your waiver prior to your rental. You can fill out the waiver through your confirmation email or you can fill it out on paper prior to your rental. Please try and fill it out through the confirmation email as we are trying to eliminate our paper usage. 

Cancellation Policy: A 24-hour notice is required for all cancellations. Customers will receive a full refund or they also have the option of rebooking or being issued their refund on a gift card to be used at a later date. In the event that we cancel due to high winds, inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances, a full refund will be issued. Cancellations for rentals made with less than 24-hours notice will result in no refund, but will only be offered a credit to rebook at a later date. No-shows will be charged the full price of the rental and will not receive a refund nor credit.

Alcohol Policy: Alcohol is prohibited on any Kayak Centre rental, tour, or event. If our staff/guide(s) notice an individual to be drinking alcohol or be visibly inebriated prior to the tour, rental, or event, they will not be permitted on the water.

Where do I go?

Starting Summer 2024, a portion of our rental sales will be donated to Save the Bay, a local non-profit organization whose mission is to protect and improve Narragansett Bay.
