Cold Water Immersion - Indoors

When the feel-like temps begin heating up in early spring many people are (understandably) eager to get out on the water. But before you launch your kayak or paddleboard you need to make sure you’re prepared for the unexpected: cold water immersion. Capsizing or falling off your board in cold water can kill you if you aren’t prepared and survival time in cold water can vary from seconds to hours, with striking contrasts.
This free in-store presentation covers what kayakers and paddleboarders need to know about safely paddling in cold water, from the 4 stages of cold water immersion to what to wear and other considerations.
