This basic navigation course will introduce you to the essential fundamentals of kayak navigation. You’ll learn how to read nautical charts, use a compass, understand the difference between true and magnetic north, how to plot a course, measure distance, and factor in tides and current to create a float plan for any trip you might be planning. The art of navigation is explained in understandable segments so that it can be applied in real on-water situations.
