When things go wrong they not only go south quickly but they usually have multiple consequences. If you paddle with a group and/or have aspirations to take on a leadership role within the group, then this class is a necessary component to add to your skill set. Participants will have the chance to lead the group and devise strategies on what to do when problems or issues occur. Topics covered include group formations while traveling; on-water communication (including hand signals and radio communication); rescue priorities and methods; towing; and managing yourself and the group when the proverbial stuff hits the fan. Learn how to help paddlers who may be in trouble, while keeping the rest of the group safe and most importantly keeping yourself safe and in control.
