Oceanplay 1 - July 5

The journey begins here! Our full-day gateway course to the sport of kayaking introduces the essential skills and safety for a day out on the water. The first half of Oceanplay 1 focuses on learning and refining essential paddling strokes and the wet exit.

After lunch, we'll embark on a short paddle and practice newly acquired skills, learn group and self rescues, and bracing. We'll also cover off-water basics like launching your kayak, emptying a boat, kayak nomenclature, and a pre-paddle checklist. The course is taught in calm, protected water and by day's end you'll feel ready to head out on your own excursion!

Sunset Paddle- Every Friday in Wickford or Charlestown!

Take in some spectacular sunset views as we lead you on a tranquil paddle through either Wickford Harbor or Ninigret Pond in Charlestown, depending on the evening.

These gentle sunset excursions are great for paddlers of all abilities and are a perfect way to end your day, or begin your evening!
